Hiroshi was born in Tokyo. He began learning the guitar when he was 13. Hiroshi moved to North Carolina, USA to begin his studies in classical guitar at Campbell University.
After earning his BA in 2000, Hiroshi continued his classical guitar studies at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He completed his Master’s degree in 2003. In 2004 Hiroshi went back to school to further his musical studies at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia and graduated in 2007 with a Doctorate degree in classical guitar performance.
Hiroshi’s main style is classical guitar. However, he also performs and teaches other styles such as folk, rock, blues, R&B and funk, while being capable of teaching bass, ukulele, song-writing, theory and music history as well.
Having taught at the university level, Hiroshi is a very experienced teacher, who has taught in a variety of settings. We are happy to have Hiroshi on our great team at The American Guitar Academy.
