Originally from Gran Canaria, David earned his Bachelor’s degree at Taller de Músics, Barcelona, where he studied guitar, composition, and arranging. Among others he studied with the famous jazz musician Joan Chamorro, and took masterclasses with Guillermo Klein, Alexis Cuadrado, Carles Benavent, and Scott Henderson.

From an early age, David’s interests were very diverse and included The Beatles, Elmore James, Freddy King, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Andrés Segovia, and Wes Montgomery.

As a teacher, David has taught a wide range of styles, including pop, rock, jazz, funk, bossa nova and classical. He has accumulated more than fifteen years of experience teaching students of many different levels and ages.

Alongside his career as a guitar teacher, David has taught classes of solfege, traditional and modern harmony, counterpoint, analysis, and improvisation. He has also directed classical, jazz and pop-rock ensembles.

David’s other musical activities include composing, arranging, orchestrating and producing soundtracks for documentaries, and writing music for advertising companies.

In addition to playing classical, acoustic, and electric guitar professionally, David also plays piano, electric bass, flute and percussion. He has performed all over Spain, including at some of Spain’s most prestigious concert halls.

David also performs concerts in Tokyo, where he has lived since 2018.
