Get ready for a musical exploration like no other! We are thrilled to announce the next teacher concert, “Big and Small”, featuring TAGA teachers Ryan and Rio. This concert is set to be a unique blend of melody and rhythm, showcasing the harmonious interplay between the largest and smallest of string instruments - the upright bass and the ukulele.
Ryan and Rio are coming together for the first time to explore this unique duo combination. The concert will feature a diverse repertoire, the smooth and sophisticated sounds of jazz, groovy pop standards, and the vibrant rhythms of Hawaiian and Latin songs. This eclectic mix promises an evening of entertainment that will captivate audiences of all ages and musical tastes. Experience the magic that happens when the deep, resonant tones of the upright bass meet the bright, cheerful notes of the ukulele. It’s about the joy of making music and the thrill of sharing it with others.
They will perform at the Roppongi school of TAGA, as part of the TAGA Teachers Concert Series. This is a new initiative to showcase the talents and diversity of the TAGA faculty and to offer students and guests a chance to enjoy live music in an intimate setting. The concerts take place after the lessons have finished, so you can come straight from your class or join us later.
The concert is being held next week on March 19th. The doors open at 9:00 pm and the music will begin at 9:20 pm. The concert will last until 10:45 pm and the doors will close at 11:00 pm. There will be two sets with a brief intermission in between. We encourage you to take photos and videos of the concert and share them with us. Please reserve in advance and bring exact change!
Regular tickets are 2500 yen. Students get a 30 percent discount on the tickets, which brings the price to 2000 yen. The concert is limited to 18 audience members, so please reserve your seat as soon as possible using the website or the QR code below.
