Happy Birthday to the legendary Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim, revered in Brazil and considered to be the father of bossa nova. Many of his songs have become jazz standards and are beloved by musicians all around the world. Indeed, his contribution to 20th century music was so significant that the Brazilian poet Vinícius de Moraes said, "In the world of music, there's pre-Jobim and post-Jobim."
