Happy Birthday to Luiz Bonfá who was born on October 17th, 1922. Bonfá is best known for writing the music for the Brazilian movie Black Orpheus.
From the age of 11, he studied with Uruguayan classical guitarist Isaías Sávio. He was an extremely dedicated student and used to travel 2.5 hours (one way) to go and study with Sávio.
