Domenico Scarlatti was born on this day (October 26th) in 1685, the same year as J. S. Bach. He was born in Naples, but spent most of his career in Spain and Portugal.
He is most well known for his 555 keyboard sonatas. These are full of life and color, and work brilliantly when arranged for guitar or guitars.
Giovanni plays here an except from Sonata K386. In preparing this video, Giovanni aimed to approximate the sound of a harpsichord which he also has experience playing from when he studied early music.
